Giants quarterback Drew Lock expressed frustration for not becoming the starter moving forward after New York recently benched Daniel Jones.The Giants announced Monday that Tommy DeVito will start Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Lock, who spent the team's first 10 games as Jones' backup.Lock remains New York's QB2 and acknowledged Wednesday that he's "disappointed" and "upset" by the Giants' decision not to start him, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan."That's a question that I might still have for myself. It was expressed to me that I was going to be QB2. Interesting situation," Lock added, per SNY.Lock started two games for the Seattle Seahawks last year and joined the Giants this past offseason. The 28-year-old, who has 23 NFL starts under his belt, has briefly appeared in two games in 2024, attempting just eight passes."There's a ton of emotions involved in all of it. I would say this is still a business and I want more jobs after this year," Lock said. "So if I come in and be ugly and nasty, it just leaves a bad taste in these guys' mouths. Who knows how fast that spreads? I'm going to come in and be great."Lock is happy for DeVito, though."He deserves to have this team behind him, and I'm excited for him," Lock added.DeVito made six starts for the Giants in 2023 as an undrafted rookie. The 26-year-old sparked the club's offense and had a passer rating higher than 100 in three games. Overall, he passed for eight touchdowns and three interceptions while posting a 3-3 record as a starter.The 2-8 Giants currently rank dead last in scoring this season.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is looking forward to facing the San Francisco 49ers again Sunday in a rematch of last season's playoff matchup.San Francisco claimed a 24-21 divisional-round victory in January to eliminate Green Bay en route to reaching the Super Bowl as NFC champions."I think just ending the season, getting into the playoffs, and being knocked out by the 49ers, whoever it would have been, that game is definitely going to sit with you," Love said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "That's what you've got to kind of just sit with all offseason, is going back, watching that game, trying to see what you could have done better, could have done differently in that game."It definitely sits with you through the offseason, and then you obviously move on. Just knowing that that's the team that knocked us out, we're definitely hungry for this game."Love finished the postseason matchup against the 49ers with 21 completions on 34 attempts for 194 yards and two touchdowns to two interceptions, including an INT with 0:52 left in the fourth quarter that sealed San Francisco's victory."Obviously, two turnovers in that game, critical mistakes, the final two-minute drive situation to go win, and having a turnover," Love added. "So just learning from that situation, put myself back in that situation, what would I have done differently? How do I grow from that? Things like that."Turnovers have been an issue for Love this season, as he's thrown an NFL-high 11 picks, including at least one in eight straight starts. The star passer missed two games earlier this campaign due to an ankle injury. The 26-year-old has also completed 62.3% of his passes for 2,081 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2024.Despite Love's mistakes, the 7-3 Packers have won five of their last six matchups and are the No. 6 seed in the NFC.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently opened up about his 2024 season, saying it might have been his toughest year since entering the NFL."It's been a tough year personally with my emotions because it's a roller coaster," Prescott told David Moore of The Dallas Morning News. "It's truly been ups and downs. I would say riding a wave I'm constantly preaching about not riding."The veteran passer added: "Off the field, it's been some of the most joyous times I ever could have imagined, dreamed of. Having a child, getting engaged, starting a family. But then on the football field, it's probably been as tough of a season as I've ever had. I'd probably say the toughest."The Cowboys have had one of their more disappointing seasons since drafting Prescott in 2016, as Dallas is currently 3-7 while underperforming on both sides of the ball. Prescott appeared in only eight games, completing 64.7% of his passes for 1,978 yards and 11 touchdowns against eight interceptions before sustaining a season-ending hamstring injury.Prescott sustained his injury Nov. 3 and was hoping to return this year, but the three-time Pro Bowler recently decided to undergo surgery after meeting with a specialist."At the end of the day, we were hoping in six weeks I could start gaining strength, which is what all of the doctors were telling me," Prescott explained. "But if I waited and rehabbed it, I may or may not be able to regain strength. Even if I did, there was still a chance it would likely tear off."Prescott's subpar 2024 followed an excellent 2023 campaign in which he led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes and finished second in MVP voting. His spectacular season helped the veteran QB become the NFL's highest-paid player by signing a four-year, $240-million extension.Prescott posted an 86 passer rating in 2024, the lowest of his career and only the second time he finished a year with a rate under 90."Not playing up to my standards, turning the ball over more than I have. Just uncharacteristic," he said. "Leaving some of those games, mentally it was like, 'Man, I saw it the best and clearest I've ever seen it, but maybe I didn't execute that way or the team didn't execute that way.'"The Cowboys have had Cooper Rush at quarterback with Prescott sidelined. Dallas has lost both games with Rush starting by a combined score of 68-16.

Former NFL head coach Rex Ryan said he still has what the New York Jets need to bounce back without a full rebuild amid the team's disappointing season."I look at it this way: Blow it up? We're going to blow the opponents up," Ryan recently said on ESPN New York's "Bart & Hahn." "There's way too much talent on this team to play the way we've been playing. Period. How hard can you get a guy to play? That's the thing. Nobody has seen a team that is going to play as hard as this team's going to play in the future, trust me.
