(Bloomberg) -- Borrowers are flooding global debt markets at an unprecedented pace as they seek to take advantage of demand from credit-hungry managers that are so flush with cash they have already driven corporate bond spreads to a near 30-year low.

(Bloomberg) -- Bonds tied to Edison International, the parent of the largest utility in Southern California, weakened on Wednesday after windstorms fanned wildfires into even bigger conflagrations in the Los Angeles area.

Since the inception of the sustainability-securities market, only 2021's $1.126 trillion in sales was higher.

“Issuers are taking advantage of calm markets, low volatility, and tight spreads before Trump's tariffs might spoil the party. ... For a record amount of issuance, there must also be a large amount of investors ready to put money at work. This is indeed the case.”

Edison International’s bonds weakened on Monday relative to Treasuries, extending a week of losses, after wildfires raged in Southern California where the company’s electric utility is based.
