A few light showers can't be ruled out overnight, especially along the coast. Expect an even cooler high temperature tomorrow with a better chance of seeing a sprinkle, but most of us in the interior valleys will likely remain dry, especially areas south of Salem.

100+ degree temperatures are still in the cards for the next three days, which means we've got three more First Alert Weather Days ahead of us. Meanwhile, the coast should continue to cool down into the 60s to low 80s.

It still appears Monday and Tuesday will be our hottest days with temperatures in the low 100s around the metro area and lows nearing 70 degrees.

We've got an upper level disturbance offshore that is introducing some moisture and instability overnight into Sunday afternoon. We should be in the clear west of the Cascades by tomorrow afternoon, with the thunderstorm chances moving over central Oregon at that time.

Plan on high temperatures staying in the 80s all week under mostly sunny skies with overnights cooling nicely into the mid 50s. A trough to our north is clipping us as it makes its way slowly to the east, bringing us the cooler air.

We may struggle to get out of the 60s in Portland Monday. The system coming through will be a light rain event, as most of us in the lowlands are expected to get less than a tenth of an inch.

The severe thunderstorm watch for our region will expire at 9 p.m., with models putting the bullseye for the most rain right over Mount Hood, stretching northwest into Washington.

It'll be very wet for many areas through the Cascades tonight through Friday! Models are giving some areas in the mountains around an inch of rain or more, while some spots in the valley may only get a tenth of an inch.

The cooling trend continues through midweek as a trough starts to dig into the region, bringing us a combination of clouds and sunshine and pretty pleasant temperatures.

Temperatures will keep cooling through midweek! Expect morning clouds and a mostly sunny afternoon Monday with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. It'll be a beautiful start to the work week.
