Sandy Ridge Elementary School is proudly flying a new American flag, replacing the tattered one that had flown for several years, thanks to the thoughtfulness of Patrick Dodson of NE Stokes Fire and Rescue. This took place during a visit on Aug. 10 as part of a training night. Firefighters toured the school to become familiar with the building's layout, helping them to better prepare in case of an emergency. Their motto, “Train Today, Be Prepared Tomorrow,” reflects their commitment to protect and serve the residents of Sandy Ridge.
