It sure was good to get some rain the last few days. Gardens and yards were getting pretty dry. Could use some more. Take care in this hot weather and be sure to drink plenty of liquids and try to stay cool.

We have had a lot of rain recently, but at least it hasn’t been a gully washer. We could use some sunshine to dry things out and be able to get in the garden without getting buried in the mud.

We are still have some hot weather, but at least we hope not to have a lot of rain from the hurricane. Gardens have been doing well and canning season is in full swing for now.

We are still having some hot days and rain almost every day. It has cooled off at little but is still hot for this time of year. Before we know it snow will be falling. In fact fall is getting here as the fall wild flowers are blooming.

As school starts on Monday, be sure to leave home a few minutes early as there will be children standing on the side of the road waiting for the school bus. Also, it has been foggy for the past few days and that cuts down on how far ahead you can see. Please start leaving earlier and watch out for school buses and children on the side of he road. Good luck to all of our students in the upcoming school year which includes our college students.

School has started and we have had some hot days this week, but also some cool nights. That is a sign that fall is not far behind. There is still a lot of garden stuff to put up for the winter, but come January and February they sure will taste good. Nothing beats having canned goodies to eat that time of year.

We got some much-needed rain on Sunday night. It least it will help as the yards are beginning to show brown spots. At least it wasn’t flooded in.

I hope that all of our readers are doing well trying to get back to normal life following the hurricane. We know we are blessed as there are so many

We hope that all of our readers made it through the night Saturday night as the power was turned off for some much needed work to be done. If this work had not been done and we had a winter storm, we might have been without power for a longer time. We don't know just how much we depend on the power until it is off. We should be thankful for it. Think about how our ancestors who did not have power done things during their time. We should all be very thankful for our power.

We hope all of our reader are taking care of themselves during this busy holiday season. Sometimes we take on too much and can't enjoy the holiday. Be sure to cut back on a few things this year, if necessary. Also, check on your elderly family members who may be home by themselves.
