We have had some heavy duty thunder and lighting lately as well as rain. We need to be safe during these terrible storms. If you see one coming up, get to a safe place fast. Sometimes they can move faster that we think. Be safe, drink plenty of water in this heat and stay out of the lightning storms.
Gardens are producing well at this time. Some are putting up beans, corn, etc. to have on hand this winter. Those hard days of canning and freezing will pay off
It looks like we are going to get some more cold weather in the next few days. Just be prepared to let you water run so you won’t have frozen pipes in the house if it get real cold. Check on elderly neighbors and make sure they are OK and don’t need anything. Happy New Years to all of our readers and hope that you have a safe one.
The Balsam Grove Community Club kicked off its monthly jam sessions on Saturday, March 21, with a delicious chicken dinner and entertainment by great local musicians. Food service begins at 5 p.m. and music goes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come join us every third Saturday through November. We would love to have you join us up in the Grove. Submitted photo

We hope that the little bit of rain will help with the forest fires. They sure can get out of hand fast. Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend with the family during Easter.
We got some rain over the weekend but not near enough. We hope we will get some more to help with all this pollen and dust that needs to be settled and also bring the water table up. The creeks and rivers are already showing signs of low water. Be safe and keep an eye on your spring water or well water.
