Paintless Dent Removal, aka PDR, is nothing new. It came about decades ago and is the savior of the automotive body repair industry in many ways. PDR can take care of insane amounts of damage and requires less equipment, less space, and usually much less cost. Without PDR, the number of hail damaged cars in the country that would be totals alone would be insane. But what about older cars? Can you use PDR to clean them up? What about a car you are about to restore? In the video below, Sleeperdude is putting his cool B body wagon through some PDR love to refresh it, and the change is amazing. This is really what a paintless dent repair makeover can do.

A couple years ago, Finnegan bought a new to him drag boat that he named Side Chick. And this boat was set to stay in California so that Mike could fly in and race it and have fun. But it just gave him headache after headache as the engine was just not good. It had all the right parts, and was supposed to be awesome, but unfortunately it wasn’t reliable and it caused all kinds of headaches and it turns out that lots of stuff was wrong. A lot of stuff. But was it fixable?

The answer is…. maybe. If you have the right team, the right parts, and the right mentality, I think you can. Hell, I know you can, because I’ve seen it done. But can the Rustomod crew make it happen? They are sure going to try, and given the fact that they are proficient with a welder and a grinder, I think just about anything is possible. In this video they are going to take a C50/60 Chevrolet and swap it onto a late model truck chassis. As you’ll see in the video, there are some really good reasons to consider this swap.

Drag racing, like most forms of motorsports, is always evolving. In an effort to go quicker and faster, there is a constant back and forth between the engine, drivetrain, and chassis of the car. Here’s the common scenario. Your car makes 1000 horsepower and you want it to go quicker so you make more power. Then the trans or torque converter is no longer ideal so while it is quicker with more power it isn’t as quick as it could be. So you change converters and boy is it quicker! But it’s not as quick as it could be, because you have maxed out some of your chassis adjustments. So then you add more chassis capabilities, either with shocks, struts, new suspension design, or longer travel so that it reaches its full potential.

My dad worked for Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, and Bentley for several years when I was growing up and one issue they often saw was customers coming in for warranty or maintenance work in cars that they had purchased in the United States but that were actually from Europe. These cars were referred to as Grey Market cars and could pose a problem for owners sometimes as they weren’t always easy to get parts for or didn’t fit legal and emissions requirements. But those were cars that were just a couple of years old. What if you could legally import a 25-30 year old European model to the U.S. Would you consider it?

When I was a kid, I thought a 1969 Camaro with the Endura front bumper option was the bees knees. The Endura front bumper was a urethane bumper that replaced the front bumper and was body color. Since the 1980s and 1990s were home to the monochromatic movement in hot rodding, it’s not surprising that this was a popular modification during that time, even if it was a rare factory option. But one of the problems with those “plastic” front bumpers was repairing them if they cracked. The same thing was a problem on plastic nosed Pontiac GTOs, and a whole host of other cars that came with them.

I guess kids today see cars in movies and on tv and are excited about them, but the tv shows we grew up with in the 1970s and 1980s were part of the epic car chase era. And not only did they make car chases popular and exciting, but they also made us fall in love with the cars that the good and bad guys were driving in said chases. What is funny though is that while most of the iconic cars we feel in love with were the powerful and sexy models of our favorite muscle cars, some just weren’t.
