BOGUE — The Bogue Town Council tabled approval of a grant project ordinance Oct. 21 that would allow for the use of remaining American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funds to pave a section of Chimney Branch Road.

BEAUFORT — After multiple parents and staff members at several schools expressed concern over content of books on a reading list required to participate in the NC Elementary Battle of the Books (BOB) competition, Carteret County school officials have opted to not participate in the program this year.

MOREHEAD CITY - Carteret County Animal Control will host a free rabies vaccination clinic for pets 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the County Health Department, 3820 Bridges Street in Morehead City.

MOREHEAD CITY — It’s been just over a year since the Post Overdose Response Team (PORT) was created in Carteret County, and in that short time there has been a noticeable decrease in overdoses and overdose-related deaths, according to county health leaders.
