Ronald Reagan used to talk about government as the enemy of freedom, too. He used to warn that the scariest words in the English language were, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” Republicans seem to have forgotten that, though.

The fact that Democrats need the media to defend them from labels of communism is evidence in itself of the Democrat Party’s far-leftist communist tendencies.

America has battled some tough enemies over the years. But now the enemy seems to be ourselves. And the question is: Can society come through this final and last stand and save liberty for the long term?

House Republicans are investigating American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten to see if she used union dues to pay for the writing and promoting of her book, “Why Fascists Fear Teachers.” It’s expected that her primary defense will be to call out Republicans as fascists.

And so begins another round of reckless, feckless, frivolous, costly court dramas, courtesy of Democrats who love, love, love to spend tax dollars on their anti-constitutional designs. If Democrats had to pay for their own legal lawfare, court dockets everywhere would suddenly clear.

In 2020, it was the Abraham Accords, courtesy of President Trump. Now? It’s the Isaac Accords, fueled by Argentine President Javier Milei, and a significant pro-Israel movement is coursing through Latin America.

A survey found 58 percent don’t know the main purpose for the Constitution; and 57 percent don’t understand why we declared independence from Great Britain. That’s not just a sad commentary on the state of the education system. It’s a frightening harbinger of the country’s loss of freedoms.

America’s facing significant challenges in the global war for technology dominance, not the least of which is the line that must be maintained between citizen privacies and the need to capture data to fuel artificial intelligence development — something that does not concern China at all.

The key to maintaining liberty is to understand that the roots of tyranny grow and spread in a godless society. As America grows more secular — as America turns from God and church and traditional values and morals — so crime spikes and lawlessness spreads and government grows.
