With the snow cleared and the kiddos back in school, Hoosiers are gearing up for a month full of events, activities and performances to quell the winter blues. The Recorder has put together a list of things you do not want to miss during January.

Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) celebrates the new year with a new two-person comedy about brotherhood and basketball.

I went to see “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on Tuesday night, and it provided the warmth and excitement I needed to get through the blistery and violently cold weather we’ve been having here in Indianapolis.

In 2023, a report from the U.S. Surgeon General stated a lack of social connection and community were contributing to the “loneliness epidemic” and declining health, well-being and success. However, organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI), 100 Black Men of Indianapolis and Starfish Initiative are working to change that — through mentorship.
