Last night was a pretty damn good night for me. My favorite actor (Robert Downey Jr), my favorite actress (Emma Stone), and my favorite director Christopher Nolan all won Oscars. It was a long time coming for Robert Downey Jr and Christopher Nolan, though Emma Stone already had an Academy Award in her back pocket for "La La Land." And that's what this blog is going to be about- I've been an Emma Stone stan since I was 13 years old, but I will speak here as a man of objectivity. I'm not here to blow smoke up anybody's ass, but I think what I'm telling you is the truth: Emma Stone is the best actress of her generation.

For a minute there, they really had me worried. This was absolutely necessary. I don't even harbor any ill will or hard feelings toward Juwan Howard right now. I don't like what he did to the basketball program, but he gave it the old college try; it didn't work out, and ultimately, despite many ups and downs throughout the entire process, the Juwan Howard era at Michigan ended up being kind of what I expected it to be. We saw a first-time head coach, who ultimately turned out to be what we expected: a guy who was in way over his head. He'll now sit on an NBA bench as an assistant coach for a few years. Shit, given the fact that NBA head coaches are essentially babysitters at this point, it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being a head coach one day.

I love the NCAA tournament. Why do I love the NCAA tournament? Because it's so goddamn stupid. It's the most random postseason in sports, and that's why it's awesome. You could be an adult who hasn't watched a single second of college basketball and have every bit as much of a chance of filling out a perfect bracket as a guy who hasn't turned off a college basketball game since November. I'll admit that my college basketball love typically coincides with how competitive or non-competitive Michigan is. When Michigan is really good, which has been pretty often throughout my lifetime, I watch a fair amount of regular-season college basketball, but I'm always locked into March. You always fall in love with the storylines, Cinderellas, and buzzer-beaters. It's hard not to. The opening weekend of the NCAA tournament is the best in sports.

Jesus, I haven't seen them this excited since that girl got murdered. I mean, is there really anything that I can say that's going to win back the fans? I know how the Barstool audience works. I've been following since college. Francis is very popular, and I am not. I don't really think there's any purpose here in trying to revive a dead body. But we're playing a game of blogger tennis right now. It would be silly for me to just walk off the court in the middle of a point. 

So, the trailer dropped the other day for the new Star Wars series, and it's riddled with dislikes all across various platforms. It currently has 154 thousand likes and an insane 256 thousand dislikes. As someone who's been pretty open about the fact that Star Wars isn't his thing anymore, I wish I could still connect with it. I wish Star Wars put out better products. It should be a world worth revisiting, yet they continually let me down. One thing that I always hear is "That nobody hates Star Wars like Star Wars fans." That is true to a certain extent, and I'll explain why later. But we need to answer the question, are Star Wars fans just assholes?
