Though boxing is certainly a sport, boxing movies feel like an entirely different animal from most sports movies. Much of this has to do with the solo nature of the sport — besides their support team, boxing is a one-person show, and a boxer's success or failure lies almost entirely on them. Boxing matches also tend to be a much bigger event than your average game or sports match. Basically, every boxing match is like a championship. Every time two boxers step into the ring, it's a massive deal with a lot of drama and pageantry.

In our review of "Michael," we pointed out that the movie plays it a little too safe and offers an overly polished portrayal of its subject's life and career. The long-gestating biopic of the life of pop star Michael Jackson (played by Jaafar Jackson) deliberately steered clear of most of his controversies, and it seemed a carefully calculated choice to end the movie just before those issues really got rolling.

While Kirk and Spock get most of the attention on "Star Trek: The Original Series," some of the episodes showcasing Dr. McCoy are among its most notable.

Based on Elle Kennedy's "Off-Campus" college sports-based romance book series, "Off Campus" premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 13 with all eight episodes of Season 1 hitting at once. It initially revolved around music student Hannah (Ella Bright) and hockey team captain Garrett (Belmont Cameli) pretending to be a couple in order for Hannah to catch the attention of classmate Justin (Josh Heuston) — with Justin being a fellow music student and, therefore, a better match for Hannah. But as these things tend to go, Hannah and Garrett start catching real feelings, which becomes complicated for everyone involved.

Quickly shooting to the top of Amazon's Prime Video charts, nudging monster hits "Spider-Noir" and "Off Campus" to the side in the process, is the streamer's latest romantic drama series, "Every Year After." Based on the Carley Fortune book "Every Summer After," the show follows Percy Fraser (Sadie Soverall), who has returned to the British Columbia town where she spent her summers as a child in order to attend a funeral.

The world of streaming movies is complicated. Sometimes films that should be huge hits don't do the numbers they should. Other times, movies nobody expected much from end up becoming surprisingly popular. And there are instances, such as with the 2025 thriller "Echo Valley," where a movie doesn't land on anyone's radar when it is first released but then inexplicably catches fire a year later. Of course, the fact that it stars Sydney Sweeney might have something to do with that, as she seems to find herself trending on a pretty regular basis — whether it's a viral social media post, one of her many commercials, or because of another buzzy movie or TV show of hers that just came out.

The transformation of Mark Harmon from childhood to "NCIS" included a lot of other roles, including a number of television shows. Given that he first played Leroy Jethro Tibbs in a 2003 episode of "JAG" and has now played him across various shows in the NCIS universe for 23 years and counting, it can be easy to forget that Harmon actually has been other characters. And on TV, no less.

For as much as Marvel Comics has a reputation for keeping things kid-friendly — an assumption spurred on by the Marvel Cinematic Universe mostly sticking to that credo, with only a few R-rated movies to date — the company isn't afraid to get dark, violent, and edgy on the page. While it's typically the expected characters who take things into that sort of territory, Marvel going mature doesn't only happen in Deadpool and Punisher comics. Almost every Marvel character or series has trod controversial territory, particularly when sales need a boost. And these are some of the most infamous examples of that.

When looking at the list of the best Viking movies of all time, it is understandably light on family-friendly fare. If you know anything about either the real history of Vikings or just the various Norse myths and stories, then you know why movies that adapt any of those things tend to lean into R-rated territory. And while other historical eras that include a lot of sex, violence, and other such content — say, the golden age of piracy — have plenty of kids movies that downplay all that, Vikings don't seem to have the same wealth of options in that regard. But that isn't to say there are zero kid-friendly movies about either Vikings specifically or Norse mythology and fiction as a whole. In fact, there are a few that are actually quite good.
