WINTER HAVEN — The Lemon Bay volleyball team may end up being the best 13-13 team in history with the way they have played against some of the toughest competition in the state.

PUNTA GORDA – Abbie Willis and Payton Stanton both had to work their way up the ladder to earn spots on the Charlotte High School volleyball team.

Just like area volleyball teams had a great year, boys and girls cross country will be very well represented at states this Saturday at Apalachee State Park in Tallahassee.

PORT CHARLOTTE — Jess Santa scored 23 points, eight of them in overtime as the Port Charlotte girls basketball team started its regular season with a scare from a hungry Booker squad.

To think there was a time when they thought of cancelling the Starlight Auction many years ago because they didn’t think it was raising enough money for it to be worth it.

ENGLEWOOD — For 75 minutes, the Venice boys soccer team threw everything including the kitchen sink at Lemon Bay, accomplishing everything except scoring a goal.

Brightwater Lagoon also will offer a VIP area — Cabana Cove — to elevate individuals' experience with such options as renting a cabana, shaded seat areas and a more secluded dedicated swim area and a bar. PROVIDED
