SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: After England's defeat by Australia last Saturday, I wrote that Steve Borthwick's side is not getting the key moments that define international rugby right.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: England haven't clicked as an attacking force in their two November Tests so far and I think a lot of that is down to the struggles of the centre pairing.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: But this was the worst result of the lot this November. England were naïve. This was a game they should have won.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: It was surprising to hear my name suggested for a possible director of rugby role with the Welsh Rugby Union, but I'm sorry to disappoint those over the Severn Bridge.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: When I saw the England team for Japan, I was a bit underwhelmed. I'd have liked to have seen a few more new faces given a chance.

England learned very little from Sunday's rout of Japan. In fact, you could argue they learned absolutely nothing. This should have been a fixture for an England A side.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: What I find totally unacceptable is when business leaders take home fat pay cheques at a time when the company they work for is underperforming.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: I was approached to do the job on the back of England winning the World Cup two years previously. I guess that made me the obvious choice.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: Tom Ilube, who stepped down as RFU chairman on Friday, has been thrown under the bus by his fellow English rugby big wigs.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: The past 12 months haven't been the easiest for English rugby - and that's putting it mildly! As we look forward to the new year, here are my 10 wishes for 2025.
