EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - It is a mild and muggy start to our Monday with temperatures in the 60s with cloudy skies, damp roads, and patchy dense fog. Expect skies to trend mostly cloudy today with a chance for drizzle, light showers, and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures today will climb back into the middle 70s today as south winds become more westerly due to an approaching cold front that will likely stall just before entering East Texas. South winds return for Tuesday, keeping our temperatures well above average in the middle 70s as more scattered showers and drizzle remain possible throughout the day. A cold front will finally be able to push through all of East Texas Tuesday night into the first half of Wednesday, bringing a cooler shot of air our way with highs in the 60s by Wednesday afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely along the cold front as it moves through our area, so be mindful of the potential for heavy rain and maybe some sub-severe gusty winds at times through early Wednesday afternoon. Cold mornings will return by Thursday as we drop into the upper 30s/low 40s before warming back to near 60° in the afternoon. A second cold front will attempt to drive through ETX on Friday, which could bring even cooler weather our way for the weekend.
