EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Hurricane Francine continues to slowly advance towards the Louisiana coastline this AM and will send scattered rains and heavy tropical downpours to parts of East Texas throughout the day. We will not see any significant impacts from Francine, and we will not see any sort of tornadic activity, but some pockets of heavier rain will be possible from time to time. Thanks to extra cloud cover, scattered rains, and northerly winds, temperatures today will only warm into the lower 80s. Rain ends by early Thursday and sunshine returns by tomorrow afternoon. West winds and ample sunshine bring highs back to near 90° on Friday and even warmer on Saturday. Isolated rains and a weak cold front should drop us back into the lower 90s on Monday with a slight warm up for the first half of next week.
