The First Annual Bakersfield College Rodeo was held in 2023. Now, it's back for a second year and it's bigger than before.

Flags on the Boulevard is a tradition organized by The Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce. On major holidays volunteers install hundred of flags off of Lake Isabella Boulevard.

The Westerner is a mercantile that sells a variety of goods. It's located in a building owner Rod Cervera said was built in 1953.

Sierra Way is a road that connects the 178 in Weldon to Kernville. It has been closed since it washed out in March of 2023 due to flooding on the South Fork of the Kern.

Rob Lambert and his nephew have spent the last eight years slowly building a Old West town in Lambert's backyard. They call the project'New Movie Street' modeled after 'Movie Street'in Old Kernville

Christina Murphy has been missing since July 22, 2024. Her car was located in the Kern River near the 178 in Lake Isabella, and although it was removed, Murphy has yet to be found.

The Kern Fire Safe Council is currently conducting a survey in areas burnt by the Borel Fire. The information they receive will be shared with first responders so they can better serve residents.

The rain totals in the Kern River Valley are higher than the rest of Kern.

The property had become a dumping ground. Recently, work by a contractor hired by the county made the problem worse.
