HUDSON — Hudson is bringing back a former treasurer to help straighten out payments and other financial issues with Hudson Light & Power.

NORTHBOROUGH — Algonquin Regional High School will be adjusting its graduation requirements in the fall, impacting the Class of 2030 and beyond.

NORTHBOROUGH — The Select Board narrowly voted to accept a nearly $500,000 state grant to partially fund a downtown revitalization project on Blake Street and Pierce Street.

MARLBOROUGH — Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School received a $400,000 grant from the Healey-Driscoll administration to support the metal fabrication/welding and plumbing programs, the district announced Nov. 12.

WESTBOROUGH — A pedestrian has been struck by a tractor-trailer in Westborough, according to a release from the Westborough Fire Department.

NORTHBOROUGH – In what Principal Sean Bevan called a “shift,” the Algonquin Regional High School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is retiring the Junior Post-Prom Party. The event – which, as its name suggests, goes into the early-morning hours after prom – had been running for at least 30 years, according to Bevan.

The second proposal would turn the building’s basement into an escape room, with a possible virtual reality component. The ground level would become a restaurant; the patio would be expanded, with a brew pub would be sought after for a tenant; and the dentist’s office would presumably remain as a tenant. The second floor would be “community space,” with a multipurpose room for events, an “active room” for exercise, and more.

SHREWSBURY – It’s a rite of passage for Shrewsbury middle-schoolers: After school on Fridays, or on early-release days, students at Sherwood Middle School and Oak Middle School will often trek up Oak Street, down Maple Avenue, and to the town center, stopping to get something salty or sugary at 7-Eleven or Dunkin’.

HUDSON – Voters at Hudson Town Meeting will consider articles to fund school roof repairs, create an Audit Committee, and spend PFAS settlement money that started arriving last year.
