BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -As one of the area's more newer eating establishments, Clarksburg's Whiskey Biscuit, has only been around for a couple of months. However, the impact they've made on the local community couldn't go unnoticed even if you tried. The restaurant has become many people in local area's go to food spot in the short time they've been in Clarksburg; and with so many local staples that's saying a lot. Owner, Gene Butler, believed it was the perfect time to pack up from down south and bring North Central West Virginia something different.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Morgantown's Shiny Dome Records has been established within the local area for nearly two years, and during that time they've managed to bring something new to local music scene. Aside from the many musical selections they offer at their store front, the business has also aimed to enhance the local music scene by helping bring many different musical talents to the local area. While also establishing ways in which local talents can be seen and heard. Their mission is far from complete, however the head dome behind the operations, Chris “Baldy” Herrod, has taken a long lasting love and turned it into a well established vision.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -The West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness and the United Way of Doddridge and Harrison county's resilience collaborative have teamed up for a PIT homeless count amongst the local area. Pit or point in time, is a nationwide initiative that aims to identify the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Not only assessing their situation, but also helping them receive the care and resources they need. Locally, Director of the Resilience Collaborative, Marissa Rhine, not only see's the importance of this effort on a national scale; but also in her own backyard of Harrison county.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -The Junior Appalachian Musician Program is a regional based program geared towards children in the 4th through 8th grade. The after-school program aims to teach young musicians how to play traditional Appalachian instruments together; while also learning about all of the unique and rich aspects that help make Appalachian music what it is. Program director, Mary Linscheid is excited about the introduction of the program; being one of the first of it's kind in the state.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -Next week the city of Bridgeport will be introducing a 7 week long Country Line Dancing class within the local community. The class is open to all ages, no with no experience required. Also offering the opportunity to learn a new dance every session and while this isn't the first type of dance class the city has offered. According to city officials like, Amy Callahan, it's an idea that started from just gauging the public's interest.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -Morgantown's Village Butcher and Market is far from your average butcher shop. The local business not only specializes in hand selected cuts, but also offer their customers a chance to enjoy a delicious sandwich from one of the meats found right in the shop. The business has become many people in local area's go to spot; whether it be to pick up some prime rib or enjoy a filling lunch. According to Business Owner, Anthony Straface, like many great business ideas the thought to open up shop; first started with a deep passion and the opportunity to fill a need within the local community.
