Sunny and pleasant weather sticks around today. Warmer temperatures build next week with storm chances returning by Wednesday.

The Climate Prediction Center's May outlook paints a fairly balanced temperature picture for south Louisiana, including Baton Rouge. After a warm spring, the pattern is expected to even out, leaving us with temperatures that average close to normal for the month. That means typical mid-May highs in the mid-80s and morning lows in the mid-60s, with some ups and downs along the way but nothing too far from what we expect this time of year.

A pleasant Monday brings sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Storm chances return midweek, with heavy rain possible late week.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms will impact south Louisiana through Saturday. Flooding concerns continue before drier weather arrives next week.

The Mother's Day forecast has improved, with only isolated t-storms expected. More organized rain returns Monday with pleasant weather starting Tuesday.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop on Monday before much drier and warmer weather settles in for the middle of the week. A few storms could become strong, and isolated flooding remains possible in spots that picked up heavy rain over the weekend.

Amazon (AMZN) is preparing to issue Swiss franc bonds for the first time, in an effort to continue funding its recent AI efforts. Big Tech hyperscalers like Amazon have begun to turn to new debt markets to raise funds. A representative for Amazon specifically said the proceeds would be used for general business purposes, including supporting investment and capital expenditure, as well as repaying upcoming debt maturities.

South Louisiana will enjoy another warm and mainly quiet day Saturday as sun and clouds, along with increasing humidity, continue across the region.
