Another round of scattered showers/storms will be possible today, mainly in the early to mid afternoon with highs in the 90s.

There is a heat advisory in effect today from 11AM to 8PM for heat index readings as high as 110! Stay safe out there!

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Get ready for some of the worst heat we've had so far this year/summer with forecast highs in the upper 90s, and not much relief from the heat.

The extreme heat warnings will continue for our region for at least another day with hot highs in the upper 90s.

A heat advisory will replace the extreme heat warning for the Baton Rouge area today, but it will still be very hot and humid.

Heat is trending upward while rain chances are trending downward in your hot local forecast.

We may see a slightly better chance of scattered showers/storms Friday afternoon and early evening, otherwise, the heat continues.

The extreme heat warnings have returned for today, along with a chance of strong storms late in the day.
