Sumbitted Steve Branan, who is portraying Paul Revere, tells the mesmerizing story of Revere’s daring trek. This was only one of many fun and educational moments that took place during the Fall 2024 Holmes County Camporee Oct. 10-12 at the Holmes County Home.

Fred Main Hiland senior Camden Bille’s career came to an end where every high school golfer wants to be, at the state tournament. Bille’s two rounds of 84 and 82 landed him 36th overall.

Submitted Love In the Name of Christ staff members and volunteers have been working hard to make the local Holmes County organization a vital part of helping families all over Holmes County. Love INC will host a 10th anniversary celebration on Nov. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Martins Creek Mennonite Church.

Susan Schie Eric Strouse, left, is sworn in as the newest Holmes County commissioner by Holmes County Judge Sean Warner. Strouse, who earned a seat at the commissioner’s table by winning the primary election and then running unopposed this November, was chosen to fulfill the seat vacated by former Commissioner Ray Eyler, who could not continue due to health issues.

Justin Smith West Holmes head coach Keaton Leppla brought a new system to the Knights’ program, and it took a while for the team to grasp the game plan, but once it did, the Knights finished strong, grinding out a pair of playoff victories. Leppla believes it is only the beginning of something great for the program.

Danielle Wagers The West Holmes girls cross country team capped off another record-setting effort with a fourth straight state meet appearance and a school-best 10th place finish at state by attending the Nike Regionals in Terre Haute, Indiana on Sunday, Nov. 17. Oddly enough, the team ran 10th again out of 46 very competitive teams.

Submitted The Berlin Nativity Parade on Friday, Nov. 29 will feature plenty of live animals, courtesy of The Farm in Walnut Creek, including camels being led by the shepherds.
