Safety was the order of the day Friday at Kunuiakea Stadium on the Kamehameheha campus, site of the 2026 Island Movers/HHSAA Track & Field Championships.

In a meet that was feared might not happen a day earlier due to weather, history was made as Mid-Pacific earned a share of a state track and field championship for the first time in the school’s history Saturday at Kamehameha.

It should be the simplest of all sports. It’s about who runs from the start to the finish fastest, who throws things the farthest, and who jumps the highest and longest distances.

Hawaii Pacific will become the first university in Hawaii to offer flag football this fall.

University of Hawaii athletics had a great year overall, winning a bowl game, conference tournaments and, in men’s volleyball, a national championship.

Since 1983, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association’s Hall of Honor has inducted 12 student-athletes who are judged the best among the best of their senior class of interscholastic athletes.
