UTICA ― The Utica boys bowling team enjoyed a season-best first game Tuesday against visiting Licking Valley. So things were bound to level off during the rest of their Licking County League matchup.

NEWARK ― The Ohio Scholastic Hockey League has split into two divisions, and not surprisingly, the Newark Generals are among the four top Gold teams.

GRANVILLE ― Just 20 seconds into their game with visiting Licking Valley on Saturday, Granville's Cayden Strasser grabbed a rebound and heaved it the length of the court to Dylan Layne for a layup.

The Wildcats advanced to the finals of their holiday tournament with a dominant 60-36 victory.

NEWARK ― With much of his family in attendance and home for the holidays, Max Childers wanted to put on a show on his Newark Catholic wrestling mats.

Three local wrestlers won championships and the host Panthers placed third in the 15-team tournament.

NEWARK – Stacey Ardrey couldn't help but smile as her third grade son, Jacob Ardrey, received a new pair of eyeglasses just before Christmas.

HEATH ― Junior Ansley Harbage provided an offensive spark off the bench for Heath Tuesday against visiting Licking Valley.

HEATH ― Paula Drumm and her son, Travis, stood in the corner of Heath's gym Saturday afternoon, intently watching as wrestlers from 16 schools competed on the four mats.

The visiting Hornets saw most of a 16-point lead erased before holding on for the 50-47 victory.
