Shasta County elections staff are working to tally outstanding election ballots, after more than 23K were cast at precincts on Tuesday.

The Republican Donald Trump/JD Vance ticket has garnered 69% of the vote in Shasta County. The Democratic Kamala Harris/Tim Walz ticket had 29%.

An investigation determined the fire started within a meadow on private land before it spread to adjacent properties and National Forest lands.
