Evolutionary biologist Colin Wright is taking a poll on X. He poses the following question: “Is Intelligent Design a scientific hypothesis?” Dr. Wright is a Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and an advisor for Atheists for Liberty who has taken heat for defending the scientific objectivity of gender. It could be worth telling him that even Richard Dawkins finds the idea of a cosmic designer to be a “scientific hypothesis” albeit, Dawkins thinks, a mistaken one.
How does someone as inept as Francis Collins (and I’m being charitable) have the gall to tell anyone else how to become wise?
One reason, Dr. Denton says, is the “relentless” growth of the ID movement, in academia and around the world.
A recent and heart-breaking dialogue in New York between Richard Dawkins and Ayaan Hirsi Ali reminded me of the importance of the Center for Science and Culture, and especially of Evolution News, which I edit. Dr. Dawkins is the famed atheist biologist. Ms. Ali grew up as a Muslim in Somalia, became a prominent atheist, and has recently made known her conversion to Christianity. I was struck, as was Dawkins, by the frail basis for her conversion.
