Earlier this year, Marion County senior Jalil Smith was faced with possibly the hardest thing for a high school athlete: sitting on the sidelines.

CAMPBELLSVILLE—The Marion County Knights’ run in the 20th District Tournament ended abruptly Feb. 27, falling 71-56 to regional power Adair County.

At their final meeting during the 2023-2024 school year, the Marion County School Board showed that the school district had a lot to be proud of this year.

Following the conclusion of the meeting’s financial report and approval of the month’s bills, the Bradfordsville City Commissioners were met with some good news last Wednesday.

With the heat rising and the summer coming into full swing, Wednesday will see the Marion County Knights football team hit the field once again to start their pre-season training.

COLUMBIA — Marion County’s U12 All-Stars time in the District 5 Little League Tournament ended last week, falling 15-1 to Adair County and 14-0 to Washington County.

As the pack thinned out in the Heartland Conference cross country meet at Miller Park, these three local runners finished in the Top 10 of the boys’ 5K event last Thursday. For Campbellsville, Wyatt Smith, right, finished fifth overall with a time of 19:17.41 with teammate Caysen Wise coming in seventh. Timothy Rogers, far left, of Taylor County led his team with an eighth-place finish.
