Walton's Viola Concerto will be the featured piece for the BSO’s concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Bemidji High School Auditorium.

The musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Nov. 15, 16, 22 and 23, and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 24.

Northland began as a one-man show by John Peterson, a fishing guide who grew up in Bemidji. He started making jigs and tackle for his guiding clients out of his cabin on Long Lake.

Showdown was conceived in the 1960s when Joe Lewis, a totally blind Canadian, wanted to create a sport that could be played recreationally or competitively without sighted assistance.

The orchestra will perform several traditional holiday pieces like “Let it Snow,” “Silver Bells” and “It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” and lead the audience in a holiday sing-along.

Chad Bullock joined the cooperative 12 months ago and has spent the past year learning the ropes from Gary Johnson, the man he is replacing as chief executive officer and general manager.
