Tuesday will bring more sunshine, with a stiffening southwest breeze to make the 84 degree high with moderate humidity easy to take, writes Don Paul.

Probabilities favor a milder start to the cold weather season and a milder winter overall, when all is said and done. But there is no "immunity," writes Don Paul.

"Some midweek improvement is about to get underway, despite stubborn stratus clouds. After a few possible sprinkles, some bits of sun may return Wednesday afternoon, with a seasonable high near 60," writes Don Paul.

"In terms of temperature, the highest likelihood for a warmer than average cold weather season is in the northern tier of the U.S.," writes Don Paul.

Saturday should end up well shy of a real washout and end up the better of the two weekend days, Paul says.

With the storminess out of the way, we now move through a couple of days of a raw wind taking seasonably chilly temperatures and making them feel colder, Paul says.

Thursday, local social media came alive with varying types of heads up to the potential for lake effect snow in our region by Wednesday and Thanksgiving.

Regarding Dean Grenz's letter (Dec. 13), there is no place in his article where he condemns Hamas for the killing of some 1200 Israelis, most of them women, children, infants, and the elderly, and wounded about 3,500. They filmed themselves murdering, raping, and mutilating many and then posted it on the web for the world to see. Dean needs to ask himself why no Arab Government wants any Palestinians, why not one has offered to take any of them. So why should the United States take in Palestinians, when none of the Arab countries want them?

John Sinclair, poet, music producer and counterculture figure has died. He was 82.
