The Lady Bearcats of Denton/Geyser/Stanford/Geraldine won two matches and lost two at the Class C State Volleyball Tournament played last weekend in Bozeman. After winning their first match in the opening round, the Lady Bearcats went up against undefeated Circle in a quarterfinal match played Thursday evening. The Lady Wildcats won the match in straight sets, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-15. Circle then went on to win the Class C title. The Lady Wildcats were also the only undefeated state champions over the four classifications.

Senior Scotti Smith and sophomore BriElla Becker of DGSG were named to the Class C all-state volleyball team. The all-state teams were announced following the conclusion of the state volleyball tournaments. Other District 5C players making the all-state team were Lyla Ewen of Roy/Winifred, Emma Myhre of Melstone, and Louann Peters of Broadview/Lavina.

Seniors Scotti Smith and McKenzie Milburn, along with sophomore BriElla Becker, were named to the District 5C All-Conference first team on Monday after the Class C State Tournament.

The Denton/Geyser/Stanford/Geraldine volleyball team ended its season ended with a 22-5 win/loss record, a conference championship, a District 5C championship, second place at the Southern C Divisional Tournament, and a trip to the Class C State Volleyball Tournament where the Lady Bearcats won two matches, lost two matches and finished in fourth place. It also marked the first time, the Bearcats as a co-op of made it to the state tournament.

Fergus High School senior Lexya Burnham was recently named to the Class A All-State Volleyball team and the Northeastern All-Conference first team. Named to the NorthEastern All-Conference second team were FHS junior Blythe Armstrong and senior Kayla Jensen.
