Strong winds are developing in the mountains foothills west of Billings and could gust 60 to 75 mph at times. Some of this wind will push onto the plains Wednesday and Thursday.

BILLINGS — High Wind Warnings are in effect from Billings to the wet and north until the overnight hours. Gusts could reach 50 to 60 mph Wednesday evening.

BILLINGS — While there are several opportunities for showers this week, the above average temperatures will likely keep them as rain for the lower elevations. That means the odds of a White Christmas are pretty low for most places.

BILLINGS — In the short term, periods of wind and warmer than average temperatures continue. As we approach the new year, our attention will shift to cooler and perhaps snowier conditions.

BILLINGS — Unsettled weather brings wind and showers in the short term. By the end of the weekend, a more significant change in the pattern seems to be on track. And that looks to carry us into the new year.

The weather will remain active with snow showers through the weekend. Below normal temperatures are expected for most of the area.

Caution! Traveling Patchy fog may create hazardous driving conditions Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. Snow may increase Friday and Saturday.

BILLINGS — Light snow will fall over parts of the area through Monday morning. After some cold temperatures, expect a modest recovery by the midweek.
