A proposal to establish a new flagship location in St. Helena for the Napa Valley Museum gained the backing of the Napa County Planning Commission on Wednesday, marking a key step forward for the cultural institution’s expansion.

The annual Yountville Days festival and parade set for Saturday has been canceled due to the ongoing heat wave.

It was also suggested that the City Council zone a total of 66 acres as medium density residential, which calls for eight to 18 housing units per acre, in alignment with the city’s master plan adopted in 2022.

Out of the five Napa County municipalities, American Canyon will see the greatest shift in its City Council following the Nov. 5 election.
