The average cost for a one-bedroom apartment in Boston is $2,750, a far cry from what it was last winter.

Among the nation's housing markets: Metro Boston, which ranked No. 16 in 2023, fell 15 spots, while Worcester climbed 11 spots to No. 17.

Boston dropped one spot, making it the fourth-priciest rental market in the nation. Thanks, New Jersey.

The bad news: They broke records in July. The good news: The increases were modest and are less than what buyers paid in June.

But the cost of a condo decreased, according to a new report. Is it just a blip, or are prices really plummeting?
