The Carson City-Crystal Area Schools Board of Education held its annual organizational meeting on Monday and welcomed three new members who aren’t afraid to speak up.

The new athletic director and dean of students at Carson City-Crystal Area Schools has teaching and coaching experience, two bachelor’s and one master’s degrees and a passion for youth athletics. Kaleb Farnham was hired as AD and dean of students at Monday’s CC-C school board meeting. His first day on the job will be Jan. 29 and he will earn an annual salary of $70,000.

The new Montcalm County prosecutor has clarified a claim he made at Monday’s county board meeting after being asked for more details by the Daily News.Prosecutor Tom Ginster appeared before the Montcalm County Board of Commissioners to ask that he be allowed to contract with Mitchell Wood as a special attorney to handle “at least seven” pending appeal and appellate motions in Montcalm County Circuit Court, the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.
