The monthly Town Council meeting had more resident attendance than usual on Monday, November 18th. Over a dozen residents filled the Town Hall; usual attendance for the monthly meetings hovers around four or five audience members.

The holidays are upon us and Whitehall is a bustling place to be in the upcoming weeks! Don't miss out on all the fun, friends, and food that starts right at Thanksgiving and leads us to the New Year!

Join the Whitehall Ledger for its annual community Christmas party at 6 PM this Thursday, December 5th. This holiday party, held at the Star Theatre, will have lots of food, drink, and cheer - all while watching GREMLINS for free! Enjoy everyone's company as the entire community is invited!

Christmas: The Whitehall Ledger will close at 4 PM on December 20th and reopen on December 26th. There will be no Whitehall Ledger edition the week of Christmas. Merry Christmas!

The Ledger is finishing up work on the 2025-2026 phone book and hopes to release it in January. While the original advertising and change deadline was last week, the Ledger is doing one final call for updates.

Did you know the Whitehall Ledger is personally acquainted with the big jolly man AND his wife? Mr and Mrs Claus will make a special appearance at the Whitehall Ledger on Wednesday, December 18, from noon to 2 PM at 405 W Legion.

Before the December meeting of the Whitehall Town Council, held Monday, December 15th at the Whitehall Town Hall, readings of two new town ordinances, Ordinances 2024-5 and 2024-6, were introduced for public comment.

• Sarah Smart's mountains and clouds took first place for 2024's Ledger Photo of the Year. Runners-up were Tanya Johnson's peacock and Judy Chadwick's capture of the Jefferson River.

PHOTOS THAT MADE 2024: Hundreds of photos were sent to the Whitehall Ledger in 2024 - landscapes, portraits, events, and more. Each week, a photo was named BEST of the week and then placed on Facebook for your enjoyment. At the end of each year, the most "liked" photos are named the best. This year's first-place honors go to Dennis Sacry's mountains (above). Second place is Scott Cargill's mountain lion (left). Third place goes to Terry Chadwick's mountaintop rainbow (below).
