HUDSON VALLEY- Although hundreds of cyclosporiasis cases, which can cause severe diarrhea, have recently been reported in the New York City metropolitan area, the Hudson Valley has not seen the sharp increase affecting the Big Apple.

CARMEL – The Putnam Legislature’s Rules Committee Tuesday evening approved a resolution authorizing the county to adopt a real property tax exemption for the primary residence of a surviving spouse of a police officer killed in the line of duty.

KINGSTON – Speaker after speaker implored the Ulster County Legislature Tuesday night to support a state legislative measure to impose a tax surcharge on high-income residents. In the end, the measure was adopted 15-8 to request home rule legislation from the state.
