Police were called to a Third Street Northwest home Dec. 16 for a woman running from a backyard that was not hers. Officers asked the woman what she was doing, and she responded she was checking on the backyard. The woman admitted to scavenging in trash cans in the yard and was charged with scavenging.

BARBERTON: Police were called to a Lucas Street home Dec. 20 for a domestic incident. A woman told police a man hit her in the face causing her nose to bleed and three of her teeth had been knocked out. The man had already left the home and could not be located. A warrant for felonious assault was issued for the man. Later that day, the man was located and taken to the Summit County Jail.

He said his department has been busy recently cleaning up trees that came down during the Dec. 29 wind storm, which resulted in several township roads being closed. All roads have been reopened, but Stouffer said there is still wood along the side of some roads that needs to be picked up.
