A mountain music jam session is held every Thursday evening at the Cathey’s Creek Community Center from 7-9 p.m. It includes acoustic instruments with bass guitar playing bluegrass, country, gospel and more. These talented musicians can really play and sing. Everyone enjoys clogging, watching or clogging to the music or even slow dancing. That is so sweet to see. Refreshments are served at break where the people line up for a sweet dessert or maybe a biscuit or slice of pizza.

The Liberty Road Band will be playing and singing bluegrass and gospel music at the Cathey’s Creek Community Center this Saturday.

They play and sing bluegrass, gospel, country and ballads. Bring your dancing shoes. Clogging is enjoyed by young and old. Refreshments are available at break and folks line up for these goodies.

Everybody has so much fun. Refreshments are served at break. Clogging is enjoyed by all ages. Sammy Simpson gives clogging lessons for all ages at the community center at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Old Timer’s Day will be held at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7 at Cathey’s Creek Community Center.

The Mountain Music Jam is a weekly event with acoustic instruments only. Take the old guitar off the wall and join us for an evening of good old mountain music at the Cathey's Creek Community Center from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday. The event is free, but donations are accepted at the door for the upkeep of the building. Deserts, coffee and drinks are available by donation. If the music jam is canceled for any reason, we will keep you updated on social media. The Cathey’s Creek Jammers will be going back to the Oaks in Brevard this Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. The residents and staff enjoyed their visit before Thanksgiving and the Jammers had a great time.
