To many students, parents and even teachers surprise, Indiana's new ban on cell phones in schools went into effect this school year. After addressing safety concerns with all worried parties, local school administrators say the transition has been smooth. Today WSBT spoke with officials from both Concord and Mishawaka High Schools, both of which said their results are positive. Concord High School Principal Dr. Seth Molnar said teachers were apprehensive to the change at first, wondering how students would react. Mishawaka High School Principal Chad Brugh said the concerns came mainly from parents worried about reaching their students in case of emergency.
