Jodie Milkman, 55, of Lafayette Hill, executive vice president of the Delaware River Waterfront Corp., mentor, role model, and volunteer, died Friday, Nov. 1, of ovarian cancer at her home.

Jane Rohrer, 96, of Philadelphia, innovative poet and author, died Saturday, Nov. 2, of heart failure at her home in West Mount Airy.

He oversaw a high school that became the largest in the national Cristo Rey network and graduated more than 900 students, all of whom were accepted at colleges.

The American College of Physicians recognized his “outstanding teaching prowess, exemplary characteristics of care and concern for patients, and service as a role model and mentor.”

He was executive vice-chair of the Bartram Bridge Joint Preservation Commission and so active over 30 years that neighbors referred to the historic covered bridge over Crum Creek on Goshen Road as Eric's Bridge.

He spent 22 years at Pennsylvania Hospital and 20 at Cooper University Hospital, and made groundbreaking advancements in cancer treatment and hospice care.

She valued Media's small-town charm and championed its main drag, State Street, as representative of Main Street USA.

“We need to celebrate the fact that our immigration and our diversity, and the ways of new people are not taking jobs away,” said State Sen. Sharif Street. “They are, in fact, increasing our economy."
