Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk, speaking Thursday at a technology conference in Paris, said his company doesn’t need government incentives to stay competitive with China. Musk, who attended the Viva Technology event remotely, said he was surprised when the Biden administration announced new tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, as well as EV batteries and other parts, earlier this month. "Neither Tesla nor I asked for these tariffs,” Musk said during a Q&A with audience members that was interrupted for several minutes when he lost his remote connection.
