Once more to the delight of skywatchers and wannabe Northern Lights chasers, space weather conditions are currently predicted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) to be favorable this weekend for seeing Aurora.

The 13 consecutive days of clouds are predicted to finally start to break this weekend, giving us a chance to look for Comet A3 in the eastern predawn skies.

The Northern Lights may be visible in the D.C. area Wednesday night. WTOP's Greg Redfern explains how to catch a glimpse.

Aurora lit up the D.C.-area sky Thursday night, just as predicted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Space Weather Prediction Center.

Halloween marks the halfway point between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice, making it a cross-quarter day.

Reports came into WTOP on Veterans Day from people in the wider D.C. area, describing seeing a meteor with a bright green tail. The American Meteor Society (AMS) has received, as of 8:25 p.m. EST Monday night, over 100 reports of a bright fireball — defined as any meteor brighter than the planet Venus.

Take a peek at the Full Beaver Supermoon, which happens Friday, and see if any Leonid Meteors are streaking through the sky on the shower's predicted peak.
