Q: Dear Greg, after reading your recent article on '50s "Panchos" (Pontiacs), I remembered mine with joy. I was looking for a used car to replace the 1955 MGA roadster I had to return to my father. I wanted a 1957 Chevy convertible, but the Powerglide transmission turned me off. Instead, I found a red 1957 Pontiac Catalina convertible with a black top and Hydramatic transmission. I later installed a new white convertible top and was quite happy with the car.
