Chugging right along with previewing Notre Dame ’s position groups for the 2024 football season, it’s on to arguably the most important position in running defensive coordinator Al Golden’s pro-level defense: the linebackers.
There’s still cause for concern with the biggest strength on the roster
We’ve finally reached the conclusion of previewing Notre Dame football’s position groups on the 2024 roster. Last up are the safeties.
Fall camp is underway and I’m done with the bar exam, so it’s a wonderful time. And since I’m in a cheery mood, I feel like being a little self-deprecating. After all, every blogger should get a dose of humility now and then.
The idea for this exercise spawned from a preseason 2022 edition of what is now known as the Earned Five-Star Podcast. The Emperor (etc.), Commissioner and Chief Inspector took turns drafting their five “boys” on the Notre Dame football roster — i.e., the five guys they would roll with that season and be rooting hardest for.
I did this last year, and with Notre Dame ’s season opener within sight, it’s time to once again dissect the Irish football schedule for its difficulty, watchability, and intrigue. So, here’s my subjective but totally accurate ranking of the games (in the same order as Notre Dame plays its slate).
