The Georgia Bulldogs will be in action Wednesday night against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Sugar Bowl, and a key part of the game plan for the Bulldogs will be the defense led by Lamar County alumnus C.J. Allen.

The Spalding Jaguars played in the Lamar County Christmas Tournament and finished with a 2-1 record.

The Atlanta Hawks battled the Los Angeles Lakers in their second matchup of the season. Unfortunately, for the Hawks they were defeated 119-102.

GRIFFIN — Carver Road Middle School honored their eighth-grade basketball player in Monday night's game against Cowan Road Middle School.

GRIFFIN — The Trinity Christian School of Griffin celebrated senior night Thursday. The boys defeated Skipstone 68-44, and the Lady Lions also won 49-24.

The Atlanta Hawks battled the Detroit Pistons in a game that had Eastern Conference standings implications as the Hawks began the day a game in a half in front of the Pistons for sixth place. The Pistons had lost seven consecutive games in Atlanta, while the Hawks come in having won four consecutive home games.

The Spalding Jaguars won their eighth game of the season on Friday against Fayetteville. The Jags defeated the Tigers 67-57 to even their region record to 5-5.
