The Maine-built satellite called MESAT will launch into Earth's orbit Sunday night. MESAT will carry four cameras and three experiments designed by students at Fryeburg Academy, Falmouth High School, and Saco Middle School.

It remains unclear just why Portland's first Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director, Umaru Balde, left after just over a year on the job. Balde resigned in May.
