After a 1-6 start to the month of April, Florida needed to make a statement as they took to the diamond. Not just to their fans or their foes. But to themselves. With just over a month left in the regular season, it was now or never time for the Gators to find some signs of life at Condron Ballpark.

Saturday's double-header between the Florida Gators and Arkansas Razorbacks yielded mixed results for both squads. While the Gators managed to avoid the sweep, they still dropped their fourth consecutive SEC series on the weekend.

Whereas the series opener between the Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers was postponed due to inclement weather, Friday's double-header between the two squads featured nothing but clear skies and some electrifying baseball. Tennessee came away with a 6-2 win in game one, but Florida bounced back to secure a 4-3 victory in game two.

In the first five innings of their rubber match against the Tennessee Volunteers, the Florida Gators did not trail once. But that all changed following a turbulent sixth inning. In a frame that saw Florida shuffle through three pitchers, the Gators surrendered 11 runs, all but sealing their fate in a 16-3 run-rule loss Saturday night.
