Despite beginning rehabilitation and preparing for chemotherapy, the family is experiencing both emotional and financial hardship.

Lila J. Seger, age 69, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

The United States National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed annually on the third Friday of September, with communities across the nation gathering to honor those missing in action (MIA) or held as prisoners of war (POW). This year, the Jasper/Dubois VFW Post 673 will host a county-wide remembrance service to pay tribute to these individuals. The local event will take place on Friday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the VFW Post in Jasper, Indiana.

Drs. Don and Mary Ann Wilder have served up the winning point in constructing a new Tennis Center on the campus of Oakland City University. In August, the couple donated $800,000 toward completing the tennis center that bears their name. This latest contribution for the tennis center raises their total donation close to $1.1 million.
