Mike Frood, a pillar of the Jordan-Elbridge wrestling community, has been inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, recognizing his incredible contributions to the sport over his decades-long career.

The Skaneateles Library and the Skaneateles School District invite the community to participate in a four-part virtual book study of Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation. This insightful series will explore the impact of technology and mental health on children today. The program is designed for parents, educators, teens, and community members seeking to better understand the challenges facing younger generations.

Rowan Prior and Max Leubner from West Genesee High School; Azdha Mundath and Devin Snell from Camillus Middle School; and Abigail Ames and Myles Avery from West Genesee Intermediate School were honored by the Camillus Optimists with the David Kenna Outstanding Student Award.

In this day and age, it is a challenge to find church leadership to venture to Central New York.

‘Drawing on Talent’ celebrates 16 years

Skaneateles Rotarians were treated to a look at the vision of the future when Skaneateles Library Board President David Hempson and Vice President Erin McCormack talked about plans for the new library at a recent meeting.

Recently, the Jordan-Elbridge High School community gathered to celebrate a significant milestone for some of its most accomplished students—the annual National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony.

The Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for The Skin Bar is owned by Heather Rossi and offers beauty services. “The Skaneateles Chamber is thrilled to see The Skin Bar opening at their new location,” Hilary Fenner, executive director of the chamber of commerce, said. “We look forward to continuing to have them as a part of our Skaneateles business community.” For more information visit lovetheskinbar.com.

The 31st edition of Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles opens Nov. 29, enchanting holiday shoppers as it brings “A Christmas Carol” to life. The iconic street theater production runs weekends through Christmas. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a limited show (noon to 2:30 p.m.) Christmas Eve.
