Boy, time flies. A little more than seven years ago, Golden Knights general manager George McPhee announced the team had traded for and signed right wing Mark Stone to an 8-year $76 million contract. At the time, the deal made Vegas' current captain the 12th highest-paid player in the NHL. Well, it's now 2026, and in 84 regular season games, Stone will need another contract.
In 2020-21, Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was awarded his first career Vezina trophy. The league’s best goaltender went 26-10-0 and posted a league-best 1.98 goals allowed per game average. It was an outstanding season for VGK’s original fan favorite.
Earlier this summer, the league caught up with Marner and other stars to discuss their prettiest NHL goal. Brand-name players like Patrick Kane, Cale Makar, Tage Thompson and a handful of others were shown highlight reel goals and asked if it were their prettiest, or nicest, goal of their career. Many agreed with the league-selected memorable moments, but Marner and a few others disagreed and had their own favorites.
