Most of Montana and Wyoming has seen the end of the very strong wind, but it will still be windy west of Billings on Friday. We'll have morning clouds, afternoon sun and moderate breezes to end fall.

BILLINGS — A ridge of high pressure is beginning to build over Montana and Wyoming at this time, and that will ensure that the end of fall and beginning of winter won't be a frigid affair for our region.

A small disturbance is quickly moving toward Montana on this first winter weekend, but it will be fairly compact and won't deliver much precipitation. We'll likely have more wind than rain or snow.

BILLINGS — We're closing in on Christmas and the end of 2024, and a small storm is closing in on Montana and Wyoming at this time.

BILLINGS — Areas west of Billings have had another windy day, and we won't be done with that for a bit.

An incoming storm system will push clouds into our sky Sunday morning, the mountains will get a good dose of snow, and lower elevations will have rain turning to snow late Sunday afternoon and Monday.

Scattered light snow showers have been falling in parts of Montana and Wyoming on this second day of the new year, but another round of heavier snow will begin Friday morning, easing in the afternoon.

BILLINGS — Light, steady snow has been piling up in many parts of Montana and Wyoming much of Friday, and we're not quite done with this first wave of snow.

BILLINGS — The last two days have provided the best snow of the season thus far for many parts of Montana and Wyoming, with amounts ranging from 2-3" to over 16" around Cooke City.

BILLINGS — After good amounts of snow last Friday and Saturday, we had another round of light snow on Monday as another disturbance moved over Montana and Wyoming.
